Four Arms

Just having some fun creating some alien peoples. This is my take on a pretty typical sci fi body structure, but i wanted to emphasize the difference between the upper and lower arms. It would be interesting to have a species with different sets of specialized arms; one for brute force tasks and one for smaller precise motor skills.

Lately Ive been trying to have lots of fun with character design. Fun in this case equates to trying to use odd shapes and draw weird guys. I think I really need to expand my shape usage.

Oh man this thing was way more time consuming than I had intended. Drawn for The Draw Off, a group that I belong to on deviant art. The theme this time was sexy ladies, so hopefully this one qualifies. I'd say this drawing isnt really for kids, but in all honesty I dont think a kid has ever really been on my blog anyway. silly kids.

Portfolio Building

It has been a while since I have posted here. Been trying to do some portfolio building in an attempt to get into character design. This is a boxer guy i did a half turn on for possible use.

Sharklops

Recently I have been studying a combination of Lesean Thomas and Corey Lewis. This is the result of my first attempt to try to channel their shapes and create my own character out of them. Gotta keep adding more shapes to my toolbox.

Number 21

Just havin some fun. I'm pretty sure number 21 rides monobikes in the Venetian League AA circuit. Some day she'll get to AAA, but moving up the ranks is tough, especially when you cant find your bike. I'll have to draw one up for her...

I have been having some internet problems, and havent quite been able to fix it yet.

A Girl and Her Robot

I think this is the first thing that I have done entirely digitally. I dont really like using an intuous, but until i get my cintiq it will have to do.

The girl was inspired by my purple haired girlfriend. The robot was inspired by Akira Toriyama. and robots.

Yoko

So a while back, after drawing her a s a fat chick, I said that i would draw Yoko correctly. Well I have finally gotten around to it, and while i dont think i did Gainax justice, i think it turned out alright.

Gotta say though, Yoko is lots of fun to draw.

Gearin Up

Today I decided to study Katsuhiro Otomo drawings. Guy is totally awesome, if you havent checked out the akira manga I highly recommend it.

Anyway after studying his genius work i decided to apply it to my own stuff. This is the result. A lot more like Kaneda than I was goin for, but overall I think it was a good productive day.

Cowboys and Girls

I really dont know why I put these things together. The other day I got to do some life drawing of a cowboy. He was a good model, and it was a lot of fun. All of these are three minute poses. (Except the bonus dinosaur, he took ten seconds. I timed it.)

This morning I warmed up by drawing some cute girls. They took about 15 minutes each. Always a good way to get started. Anyway, when I was done, I felt like putting them together.

Lets go dammit

Motorcycles are hard to draw. This is the first time I have ever been very succeful with one, but it is still a bs job with a lot of crap left out/rushed. They would take a good amount of study to master.

Son Goku

I havent drawn this guy in a while, and when i used to often, it usually was not as a kid. I think i should more often, at all stages of life.
